And yet... There is something so positive and bright and cheerful and, well, possible about it!
I'm thinking I could try it over the summer and then have next year's kiddos give it a go.
Thank you for posting it in a way that I could follow along...
Next year, the sixth graders may actually turn to each other in wonder and say, "We're doing art in our room today!!!"

Ahhhh, oh my gosh these are so incredibly AMAZING!!!! I just can't get over how great they turned out!!! I am going out this weekend to buy canvases and supplies for my kiddos to make these!!! And I love the "shine" touch... what a good message for the kiddos to take with them as they leave us!! I love all the bright fun scrapbook paper you used too! Did you use a specific kit/get them from somewhere specific or were they just a bunch of leftovers?? Thank you so much for the inspiration! I am so excited to do these!!

I love, love, love these. I teach 4th grade and just have to try these this year. Couple questions...what type of paint did you use? How'd you make the cute swirlies? And lastly, what size canvas did you use? So inspirational! The colors make any room a "happy place."

regular acrylic paint... not sure what the exact canvas size was but it was bigger than a piece of writing paper...hope that helps a little :)
DeleteThank you for posting this. I am a teacher but instead of my whole class making one I made one this summer with my 4 year old daughter. I used the word smile and since I don't have a cricket I just used the largest sticker letters I could find. I have had many compliments from my teacher friends and students and I have told them about your site.
